The Children´s Information Centre
The Children’s Information Centre of Polička was founded in 2003. It provides community services for families with handicapped children, for mothers on maternal leave, and aids adults with handicaps. The centre brings together people of good will to assist those who find themselves in difficult situations.
Association Programmes:
Aid Service for Children
- Allows children with handicaps (from severe disabilities to learning disorders) to visit schools and pre-schools, and participate in activities in their free time. It helps families who care for children with disabilities to cope with their care while at the same time keeping up their regular social opportunities (employment, involvement in public life, relaxation, and regaining their energy).
DOMEČEK (Little House) - Day Centre for Children and Adults
- Here we have prepared a playroom for children, where parents can also come to feed, nurse, and change their babies. Adults can come here to sit and have a chat, write a request on the computer, or check their e-mail on the Internet. Mothers meet in the Mothers Club; Klub Radost (The Joy Club) is for adults with disabilities.
Domeček is visited by people who find themselves in difficult situations in life and come in search of help, as well as people who come to offer it.
Additional activities:
Humanitarian aid
Consultation for the needy
Trips, theatre
